Hosting brunch this spring for your girls? If you just so happen to be and are looking for a fun way to entertain, you’ll love today’s read. In it, I’m sharing entertaining ideas: create an oatmeal bar with sweet toppings. Don’t fall victim to the same old brunch food. Allow me to inspire you with a fun & fresh way to entertain this spring! I’m also happy to introduce you to a lovely oatmeal brand that I had the pleasure of taste-testing, and can in fact confirm, is oh so yummy! There’s nothing better than being greated with a cute little package from Mylk Labs, containing all their delish oatmeal flavors. ( Roasted Almond & Himalayan Pink Salt, Roasted Hazelnut & Dominican Cacao, and Toasted Coconut & Cassia Cinnamon.)
Entertaining Ideas: Create an Oatmeal Bar
With Sweet Toppings
How it’s Done:
Creating an oatmeal bar is pretty simple, especially with oatmeal cups as cute as Mylk Lab’s! I particularly love the cute packaging because it looks great set out as is. No need for fancy serving bowls with packaging as adorable as theirs! To re-create this oatmeal bar, start with an open table and a variety of oatmeal in different flavors. I set out almond, hazelnut and coconut flavored oatmeal, to give a couple options. If you’ll be serving oatmeal cups, it makes for easier clean up and guests can create their perfect cup of oatmeal much easier. I can’t recommend this option enough for easy entertaining. (no bowls required & everything is pre-portioned!)
Toppings + Oatmeal I Served / /
– pecans
– sea salt
– almonds
– raspberries
– brown sugar
– edible flowers
– almond butter
– hazelnut butter
– dark chocolate chips
– Toasted Coconut & Cassia Cinnamon
– Roasted Hazelnut & Dominican Cacao
– Roasted Almond & Himalayan Pink Salt
Now let’s talk about how to arrange everything in a way that’s cute and delivers aesthetically pleasing results. For a unique look, I stacked the oatmeal cups in an antique, metal caddy. Keeping to it’s previous use as a milk caddy back in the day, I arranged faux flowers in a milk bottle within the caddy. I love that it adds a pretty detail, in addition to the pink ribbon tied in a bow on the handle.
Serving-ware + Materials You’ll Need / /
– caddy
– cake stand
– cupcake liners
When it comes to the toppings, try serving them on a cake stand in cupcake liners. The liners make for much easier clean up and can easily be re-filled as guests top their oatmeal. I like how using a cake stand adds a varying height and makes the overall spread look that much prettier. To finish off decorating my table, I spread trimmed roses in various shades of pink and added cozy elements through candles. The over all spread comes off cozy, fresh and makes me want spring asap!
